Mr. Yoshikawa is cultivating pears on a pear orchard that had been left fallow in Kakuda City, Miyagi Prefecture. This is the second year that the young farmer has harvested pears in Kakuda City. His efforts show no signs of stopping, as he aims to create a tourist orchard adjacent to a campsite.
They are working on revitalizing a vast orchard covering an area of about 9,000 m2, but due to their busy schedule and the effects of the extreme heat, they were unable to keep up with shipments, and some pears were sunburned by the high temperatures. BLUEBLUEBERRY FARM purchased the pears that could not be shipped, despite their good taste, and dried them.
With just one bite, I was surprised by the strong sweetness, and the moist mouthfeel and the crispy texture typical of pears were refreshing. At the same time, I felt a nostalgic feeling in the sweetness and aroma reminiscent of Japanese sweets.
Pears contain potassium, which has a detoxifying effect, aspartic acid, which helps to recover from fatigue, and sorbitol, which regulates the intestines. Dried pears can be enjoyed easily anywhere, so we hope you enjoy them as they are with tea, in sweets, or as a snack.
