About the Blueberry Farm

BLUE BLUEBERRY FARM is a small blueberry farm located in Akiu-machi, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.

It's about a 4-5 minute drive from the Akiu Onsen ryokan district. If you're walking, it's about 20 minutes from "Densho Sennen no Yado Sakan." It's located in a nature-rich area, a little away from the hot spring resort.

The farm owner, originally a salaried worker, came to this location in 2021 with the desire to start farming in his hometown of Sendai.

Then, in 2022, the following year, he started planting blueberry seedlings, and in 2025, the third year, he was finally able to have his first harvest.

We have cultivated them carefully, using almost no pesticides. (We used a fungicide only once in 2023; otherwise, all pests have been removed by hand.)

Blueberry harvesting is scheduled to begin around late June. In addition to direct sales at the farm, we also plan to sell them at stores in Sendai City and the Akiu area, as well as for commercial use in sweets and desserts.

We have also received many inquiries about blueberry picking experiences. As it is our first year, we plan to hold a limited number of events this year. We will provide more details later.

About the Varieties

There are many varieties of blueberries, but at our farm, we have planted a total of about 760 trees of 28 varieties, with a focus on varieties that produce large, sweet fruit.
