Kumakko Farm's Pesticide-Free Suzukoma Tomatoes. Flavor Doubles When Dried, Perfect for Cooking!

¥590

Kumakko Farm, located in Akiu, Sendai City, grows about 80 varieties of vegetables annually in small quantities, carefully cycling the fields for vegetable cultivation. They grow precious vegetables without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers, using only high-quality organic fertilizers such as compost and bokashi.

The Suzukoma tomato, slightly smaller than a chicken egg and a bit larger than a cherry tomato, is characterized by dense flesh, thick skin, and low moisture and jelly content. It tastes less sweet when eaten raw but is known as a cooking tomato whose umami increases with heat.
When made into dried tomatoes, the acidity, sweetness, and umami become rich as if cooked, and the tomato flavor spreads fully in your mouth. They are delicious eaten as a snack on their own, and also excellent when added to pasta, stews, or soups!
Suzukoma tomatoes also contain lycopene. Lycopene dissolves easily in oil, so absorption improves when stir-fried or marinated in oil. Please enjoy them in various recipes!
