These delicious apples are grown by Mr. Hariu, an apple farmer in Neshiroishi, at the foot of Mount Izumigatake in Sendai, using reduced pesticides and organic fertilizer.

Apple cultivation is carried out in the Neshiroishi area at the foot of Mt. Izumigatake in the northwest of Sendai City. More than 10 varieties of apples, including Fuji, Sansa, and Shinano Gold, are cultivated, and during the harvest season, as many as 100 trees are laden with apples.

Apples grown with organic fertilizer and reduced use of pesticides grow to be sweeter, tastier and more flavorful depending on the care put into them, and it feels like Hariu's earnest, dedicated attitude towards research is being properly conveyed to the apples.
